Text Box: Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, who is creator, whose true nature is beyond all human understanding. As a community of believers, we encounter the creator through the historical figure of Jesus of Nazareth, the Word made flesh, the Christ of Faith and of Prophecy. We profess Jesus to be Son of God. Our encounter with the creator is continual through the power of the Holy Spirit. By this statement we profess that we are Christians, members of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church.

As a Christian Church We Accept and Embrace:

The Sacred Scriptures* inspired by the Holy Spirit, as one, but not the only revelation of God’s presence, acknowledging God’s revelation continues.

God is revealed in creation and in the faith life of the church through the preaching, praying, teaching and interaction with communities.

The ecumenical creeds, the Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed, represent basic declarations and expressions of Christian faith. Variations of these creeds that are more inclusive and incorporate current church theological understanding of God, culture and experience may also be used.

The Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Marriage, Holy Orders, Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick as points of encounter with the Living God. The Sacraments are celebrated by the Church with great generosity as befitting them as gifts of grace given by God to the people of God.

*Includes Old and New Testaments with Deuterocanonicals
